For me, it is all about the PAINT and the painting experience itself, which evokes a profound sense of peace. The resulting image is somewhat secondary but I do strive to convey the spirit of everyday objects and the miraculous beauty of floral shapes and colors in a non-photographic, somewhat expressionist manner. My current series gives a tiny nod to mid-century retro style and explores the application of paint with palette knives (so much fun!).
I am now a full-time resident of Rhinebeck NY after having been a weekender for many years. Though I still have a day job in product development and project management I spend every free moment thinking about, appreciating or making art. I have always had a compelling need to create and I am so grateful to be part of the artistic community in the Hudson Valley and to have the opportunity to give back through this inspired non-profit organization.
