Sean Bowen has been exhibiting his paintings in New York City and New England for the last thirty-five years, including over 30 one-man shows as well as group shows including the Silver Mine Gallery, Hells Kitchen Artists Show, Bethel Art Junction and both Arts And Crafts Beer Parlors. He is also a member of the RHCAN Artist Collective. He has primarily focused on commissioned works, sales to private collectors, and corporate installations. His work has been featured at The Regency Hotel, Time Square Hotel, David Ryan Salon, Art Bar, Moonwork Theater and over a dozen restaurants in New York City and the Hudson Valley.
Described as a cross between Matisse and Picasso, his work possesses a unique style and figurative quality of its own, creating expression through mood, color and image. He primarily works in acrylic or oil stick, but it is not unusual for him to incorporate a mixed media approach.
Sean’s formal training included the Silvermine Guild of Artists, Paier School of Art, and the University of Oregon.
